Let me first say that I logged on to this site to openly thank Wylie Holdings for the compassion that they have shown to me while I have been in a very difficult position. For some months now I have been in a very bad financial situation due to personal circumstances, and I have been extremely late on my rent. I approached Wylie Holdings and explained my situation told them that it might be a while till I get back on my feet. AS EXPECTED, THEY WERE NOTHING LESS THAN COMPASSIONATE AND PATIENT WITH MY SITUATION. They NEVER pressed me and NEVER made me feel like I was anything less than a good tenant. THERE ARE NO WORDS THAT CAN EXPRESS MY GRATITIUDE TOWARD JOE, RONNIE, AND HIS STAFF. THANK YOU. Unexpectedly, upon logging into this site, I saw a number of negative reviews for Wylie Holdings. I have lived in on Butler Street for roughly 8 years, know a ton of people who rent from Wylie Holdings, and try to stay tuned in to this community. I neither know the people who have written those reviews, nor do I know people who have had such negative experiences with Wylie Holdings. I do know this... I have rented from Wylie Holdings for about 5 years and they have always, FROM DAY 1, responded to any concerns that I have had. They have always interacted with me professionally, and have always been honest with me about what they would do and when they could do it, and always returned my calls. Additionally, I have watched this community grow for years. Growth takes money and money takes investors who have the vision to develop an area...and that is what Wylie Holdings is doing. Buildings up and down Butler St. have businesses in them and many of them were brought here by WYLIE HOLDINGS. Small businesses, the night scene, the food scene.... all are growing because of locations developed by Wylie Holdings and their varied rent pricing..I.E. places priced for hipsters, places priced for professionals. And yeah, they are self-interested, just like everyone else in the development business. The difference is that they are still real people in the office who care. I have been nothing but happy with them. I recommend them without reservation.

We were the first tenants after they rennovated this unit. The "B" crew did most of the work, and it shows in the details (grouting, drywall, etc). As with any significant rennovation, there will be hiccups after the work is done, and each time I emailed with a new issue, Joe had the appropriate employee or subcontractor call me and work was completed quickly.

I spent days cleaning the apartment and still they kept my deposit. They claimed I didn't turn in the keys even though I did. They blamed me for stuff I didn't do, and when I confronted them, they said I was a shitty tenant to piss me off. You would have to be stupid to rent from this company.

For the first two months my roommates and I lived in the apartment, the entire house smelled of sewage because there was a leaking pipe. Even after calling at least once a week we eventually called the health department and reported them. We sent a letter to Wylie holdings certified with our rent saying that we had contacted the health department. Even though they signed for the letter and we had a receipt saying that they signed for it, we got a call a month later saying that they never received our rent and obviously had no idea about the letter. Of course soon after that the pipe was fixed. The washing machine that was promised with the apartment did not show up until three months after moving in even after a number of calls. During the first winter our pipes froze. We had no water for three days. The landlords told us repeatedly that they had sent some one to fix it. The gentleman that came looked at it and then shortly left after putting a hole in our wall. We eventually complained about the repairman because he would show up for half and hour not fix anything and say he would be back the next day. The new repairman said that there was five different places in the pipe that were from past breaks. Eventually he replaced the pipe and actually put insulation in our wall. Not all of the walls, even though all of the walls in that room are outer walls and are exposed to the elements. Our house is very poorly insulated. The kitchen is always freezing as well as the bathroom. The vent to these areas work very poorly if at all. We eventually bought a heater to put in the bathroom because during the winter even with the heat on it would be about 35-45 degrees. During the end of this winter one of our windows next to a down spout started leaking. We have called them repeatedly about this and it has yet to be fixed three months later. Our washing machine broke around January. The first repairman actually didnt fix it. The first time it was used it broke again. The second repairman that showed up a few weeks later said the the motor was broken (had been for quite some time apparently) and leaking and he would talk to wiley about replacing it. He temporarily fixed it but said we would need a new one soon. As I am writing this five months later it has yet to be fixed. There is a hole in our basement. Every time it rains, water comes streaming in and covers the entire basement floor. We told them about this when we first moved in and they have yet to fixed that, two years later. Now we get to what really motivated me to write this.... As we speak, I am listening to the rain coming down in my kitchen from multiple areas. It started leaking last fall. They sent repairmen over to fix our roof, which they did. Of course they did a horrible job because now in the spring the leak has come back. Its much worse than before. This time it started about two weeks ago. We called them the day that it happened. They told us that some one would be there the next day. No one showed. We called the next day and the same thing happened again. And again. And again. Finally some one showed up a week later. He came over for a half an hour, didnt fix anything and left. We have called since then and no one has yet to show up. So lets recap. Its raining in my kitchen. My window is leaking still. My basement is flooding. My washing machine is still broken. Oh and by the way, my neighbors who also rent from wiley have complained about similar problems. Right now, I am praying that my kitchen collapses so I can get out of my contract with them. No, I will never rent from wiley again. We pay our bills in full every month on time. We dont have any parties. We are quiet and we havent inflicted any damage to the house. Please do not rent from this landlord. They need to be stopped. Please tell everyone you know about this post. I dont want anyone to go through what I have had to go through.

Ok, so we lived on the bottom floor of this apartment in Bloomfield, which was a BIG mistake in the first place. Right next door to a gas station there was at least one instance of a hold up with a gun, and some with knives, etc. Scary! Every night I was scared to sleep. Anyways, it was dreadfully hot in the summer, bitter cold in the winter, NO insulation, our bills were outrageous and we were still uncomfortable. Our pipes froze once causing flooding in our kitchen, which was never properly cleaned up and so the place STUNK! Did I mention the amounts of bugs? Yes, lots. And mice? Yep, had to kill a few of those while we were there too. It was crazy! We put so much into keeping ourselves safe and we still had mice, bugs, and other issues with the inside. It was big and had laundry, only two positives. The place was set up so weird too. Just stay away.
