Wow, what can I say? This guy is a first rate scumbag. It's too bad my roommates and I were too young and innocent to know any better at the time. Wayne basically bought a shell of a house, shoved up to 8 or 9 people in it year after year, and did the BARE MINIMUM for his tenants! The place was a wreck on the day we were moving in and he promised over and over to clean it up...pffft! The only people that ever cleaned that place were the ones about to move in and live there. Then he took most of our security deposits! Each year his tenants complained to Duquesne about his antics and each year he got away with it. The real kicker was that Duquesne University eventually bought that building for hundreds of thousands more than he paid for it. Congratulations Wayne! I hope you sleep soundly at night.

As for the first rating mentioning Wayne Chiurazzi to be a "nice guy", I couldn't disagree more. He was nothing more than an unscrupulous salesman and the worst slumlord I have ever rented from. When we first moved in we had to deal with piles of roach carcasses all over the floors, pizza boxes left in rooms, layers of dust and grime over everything, and there was nothing we could do because we had already signed the lease. We left that place in better shape than it had been in since it was built and he still stole most of our deposits. Trust me, he just uses his legal knowledge to slip through every loophole he can without breaking housing laws. Duquesne University has since purchased and demolished this dump (Chiurazzi had been a bane on their existence for years) but if he has any more properties I suggest you steer clear of renting anything he has on the market.

Let me start by saying that Wayne is a really nice guy. But that doesn't mean he should be your landlord. I lived for a year in an absolute dive across from Duquesne University. The building has since been torn down. It was poorly maintained (very ramshackle) and eventually, the building next door was gutted by fire. After this happened, a maintenance crew came in to work on my bathroom. They removed the toilet and placed it in the shower. Wayne told me that I wouldn't be able to use my bathroom, but that the unit downstairs was empty, and he'd leave it unlocked so I could use that one. Not ideal, but, okay. The next morning, I walked downstairs to get ready for work only to discover that the unit downstairs was locked, and that there was still a toilet in my shower. I had to be at work in an hour and a half and had nowhere to shower, pee, or . . . yeah. NOT a pleasant experience. The problem was still not resolved when I returned home that evening, or the day after that. I ended up leaving the apartment for the rest of my lease, transplanting myself and my cats to my boyfriend's frat house, because even frat life was preferable to this slummy dive.
