I had a mixed experience with Vince, but overall, it was fine. It's true that he's slow and stingy with repairs, but as long as you're persistent, he'll get things done. I don't want to identify myself by being too specific here, but Vince and Julie were very accommodating with some special requests I made, so I'll give a '5' for friendliness. Bottom line, they're nice people, and it feels like most of the issues I and other people have had have stemmed from Vince being a bit too cheap or forgetful.

I'm a little torn about how I feel about Vince. On one hand, for the approx. 2 years I rented from him, he never bothered me or my boyfriend, the rent was super cheap, and overall the apartment was not that bad. Maybe it was just that we never needed maintenance or anything. What does him in is the fact that he kicked us out for no reason when we tried to renew our lease b/c he said his nephew wanted a large 1-bedroom. Apparently, he did the same thing to my friend who actually lived with this nephew guy. The nephew got my friend and some other roommates kicked out. I don't know what kind of power this nephew character has on Vince, like if he's blackmailing him or something, but it's super weird. But then, Vince himself is a little weird, and I'm about 90% sure he does cocaine.

Vince is a pretty aweful landlord. He rarely fixes what he says he'll fix, and when he does they're very poorly done. For example, while I lived there, all of our shower tiles fell out one day because the wood behind them had been getting wet from a leak in the house. Instead of fixing the leak, his cronies covered it up with some crappy plastic and called it a day. The leak continued through our kitchen and eventually the ceiling in our kitchen fell through as well. Basically, he'll fix quick, but never for good. And be careful, be in the house when they're fixing stuff, because his workers STEAL.

While it is true that his rental properties were not his main business pursuit, he could have taken much better care of his properties. I am still curious about the fate of my furniture after I returned from deployment overseas. It is probably in some other property with some strange person sleeping in my bed.
