For the most part, she was a good landlord. I paid on time and she left me alone. However, when it came time to get my security deposit back, she charged me for things that I did not do. When I confronted her with legal justifications as to why I was not liable and evidence that I was not the tenant who had caused the damage, she refused to return my money. As I had to move out of state, I could not afford to fly back to MI to take her to small claims court. If you rent from her, do the move in checklist IMMEDIATELY and THOROUGHLY (including pictures) and make her do the move out checklist for all areas, including the common basement, lest she blame you for breaking the dryer and leaving trash.
