I recently moved out of McKee Place after staying there for 3 yrs. I have to say that all-in-all it was a good place to rent from. The maintenance supervisor, Ed was always around and answered any requests in a timely manner. As for the office staff, Melissa was a pain to get a hold of and would always give you the run-around if you had any issues. Other than that, the apt was big for a decent price and you can't beat having 24-hr maintenance esp around Oakland! If you're looking to rent in S.Oakland and want a decent place, I would look into McKee Place.... everyone else you'd rent from would not offer on-site laundry rooms, 24-hr maintenance or have a leasing office. S.Oakland is full of slumlords who hire their 92 yr old fathers to do the maintenance on old run down apts.
