There were never any real issues with Mark. He once forgot that I paid him rent, and politely asked about it like 7 months after the fact. I told him I did, and that was that (I really had paid). He was reasonable with the deposit and did not just keep it all like you hear with so many landlords. He even refunded the pet deposit, which is unheard of.
Overall it always took a few tries to get in touch with him, and the laundry machines were out of order more than I would have like, but it was an overall good deal. The building and apartment itself were in good shape, nothing fancy, but it was a quality place to live.
The biggest downside was when he did not let me know that people would be coming over to see the apartment (once I had decided to move). This was his assistant's fault, but it happened more than once and I was not okay with random people suddenly wanting to poke around my place months before I was planning to move out.
TL;DR - He's better than most, and I'd rent from him again.

He cheated us on the deposit. There were 4 of us living there, and one of the girls didn't receive the deposit at all; while the rest of us received an uneven share. On top of that, it took him forever to make some repairs to the apartment, and overall, I would say that he conveniently forgets any instances that involve him paying for anything.

When I was moving into my apartment, I had my van filled with boxes and containers parked in the back of the apartment; and while my family was taking a break from moving in all day, Mark towed my VAN!! Then we had to pay the towing compnay $150 just to get my van and stuff back. If that wasn't enough to get your blood boiling the apartment had wiring problems so that the bedroom lights and the kitchen light couldn't be on at the same time...and forget about using the microwave without blowing a fuse. And after complaining and complaining, NOTHING was done; forget about Mark ever doing anything you need.

Mr. Glosser usually gives his tenants their space, figuratively. If monetary issues are discussed with him explicitly, there should be no problem. Although he might seem unavailable, he responds to messages via email promptly. We had a few maintenance requests, which were attended shortly.

Very friendly and almost always available via email or phone. He is also very willing to work with individuals when it comes to monetary issues. He was also a great help when I needed to sublet my apartment. The only negative remark is about maintenance. Things are always fixed, it just might take some time. His maintenance man is sometimes hard to understand, and does not notify individuals in advance before showing up to a service request.

Mark is a fantastic landlord! Sometimes maintenance issues take a while, but if you email him, he is very good about getting things taken care of. I had several bizarre incidents this summer which Mark took care of very quickly and effectively; I was very impressed. Unlike the major companies, he owns only a few properties so he is familiar with all of them and is very pleasant to work with. I highly recommend him!

The apartment itself was a rip-off, but as I was new to renting I didn't realize that. It was overpriced for what you get. First of all, the place was filthy when I moved in, like really disgusting. In the winter, the apt had old windows and heating it was a nightmare! I also had a REALLY hard time getting my deposit back, even though the apt was in better condition when I moved out than when I moved in! Mark Glosser was really nit-picking when it came to the deposit and overcharged me for things I didn't do!!!!

He was willing to make adjustments to the lease prior to our signing it, which was great. There were still some odd clauses in the lease, like he had the new tenant pay to have furniture he lent to previous tenants removed from the new tenant's apartment. We got around this by removing the furniture ourselves and carrying it to his storage location. A positive is that he does have a wide array of furniture for new tenants to borrow.
Our furnace broke a few times in the winter but his maintenance man was quick to fix the problems. He also replaced some furnishings in the apartment once we made the case that they needed replacing. Glosser was generally in email contact but he does travel a lot.
The apartment was not cleaned from the old tenants (who lived there for 2 years consecutively) so it was pretty gross when we moved in. We painted the walls in the two bedrooms and he paid for our supplies and, marginally, our labor.
Sometimes it takes a while for him to cash rent checks so be sure to properly balance your check book.
Overall, I wasn't really aware of Glosser unless there was a problem, at which point he solved the problem in a timely manner. I would rent from him again.

Mark was very difficult to reach by phone (although easy by email) and very forgetful (he forgot to send my security deposit for my parking spot). The apartment itself was terrible. Basement apartment, so it got moldy fast, then Mark expected us to clean it up. He doesn't check out the apartment in between tenants, so no one ever really cleans it. And bonus, the apartment wasn't properly sealed from the outside, so a squirrel got into our kitchen and destroyed our fridge. We went without a fridge for 2 weeks.
