Posting for someone else: "King Ng! He was my landlord at 3423 Ward Street. My friends and I lived on the first floor and basement. The second and third floor belonged to other renters. On literally Christmas Day, the pipes broke on the third floor and rained hell through the bottom floors. The only reason we even knew that this had happened, since we had all gone home for Christmas, was that my roommate left his cat in our apartment. He had a friend come over to check and feed the cat since he was only going to be gone for 2 days. Guy comes over to feed the cat...the ceiling is falling. (The cat is fine btw.) There is plaster everywhere and water is gushing everywhere. A piece actually fell through our kitchen table, snapped it in half. The basement, where my bedroom was, had nearly 2 feet of freezing water in it. I had well over a thousand dollars in personal damages. It was absolutely ridiculous. His solution....we had to move out and find other places to stay for two weeks for which we were not compensated. He took half a months rent off January. Half a month. Didn't pay for any of the damages or utility bills. Take into account the house had dropped to freezing temperatures because of all the cold water everywhere...you have to reheat that entire building while airing it out in the dead of winter. We paid the heat. Absolutely ridiculous. I went to the Pitt Law...Student Housing thing....I don't remember what its called. Gave them all the info on what had happened...I just wanted compensation for the damages, utilities, and more than half a months rent off...are you serious?? After a few months, they basically said that they couldn't help me....so we got screwed. King Ng. Don't rent from that bastard."

Posting for a friend: "i'd like to add king ng of 317 meyran to this, siphoned approx $1,000.00 or more from me, and the house had carbon monoxide, but you know, no biggie, housing authority calls him, he comes over and puts in some air fresheners. i get sick, go to emergency room b/c my fever is through the roof, but whatever. seriously students need to stop being taken advantage of, so lay the smack down if you've had a negative experience. similarly reinforce the good ones so maybe once off campus housing wouldn't be such a toss up all the time."
