Anytime we had a problem, Ken was quick to come over to fix it. We did have a mice problem; however, it had to do with how old the house was. Ken did set and clear the traps though and never made us deal with it. My only issue with Ken is that when we moved in, the house was disgusting (girls before us did not clean). When we moved out it was spotless. All 6 of us were cleaning for two days straight and he found ways to keep parts of our security deposit. Taking everything into consideration, Ken was a great landlord! Highly recommended.

Ken was always willing to come over and look at issues for us, but we had a big one that was not solved for 7 months. A sewage line had broken near our home, and our house smelled constantly. For the longest time he didn't believe us, and after awhile, he attempted putting air fresheners in our heater and whatnot, but overall, the smell didn't go away. Finally, after two of our fathers calling him, he brought people in and found out about the sewer line. All of the renters are women, and he was extremely nice to us, but apparently not so much to the male tenants that were upstairs...

This was the 3rd Landlord I've had in South Oakland and he was by far the best. The house was the nicest house I've ever seen in south Oakland and it we weren't getting ripped off with the price (very unusual). All the maintenance was kept up and the place was very clean. If there were any problems at all, Ken was there in a very reasonable amount of time and had the problem fixed right away. He also shoveled the steps and driveway himself every time it snowed. He is very reasonable and definitely NOT a slumlord. We got out entire security deposit back except for like 10 dollars. What a concept!!

Ken is always available and quick to send people over. These people, however, are... different. They look/smell/act like he just picked them off the street. Ken is also really bad about just letting himself into the house. It would be great if he would give at least one of the six people who live in the house a call prior to him letting himself in while we're walking around in towels! He's definitely not the worst out there, but I wish he cared about the tenants' privacy as much as he does maintaining the house.
