While Josh was extremely friendly to us girls living in the apartment (and even let us stay in the apartment rent free for a few months), he wasn't too reliable. Josh had recently purchased the apartment prior to us moving in. He made promises that were even mentioned in the lease (microwave in the kitchen, room airconditioner, paying for wireless internet) that he never followed through on or only made these improvements after numerous phone calls by all the tenants and/or their parents. The apartment wasn't ready for us to move in when we did and Josh and his crew were always there making improvements. I think that it would have served Josh better to own the apartment for a year without anyone living in it and make improvements then rent it out.

This house was updated and in good shape when we rented it out. I will say that the basement needed some more work, but the laundry room and extra bathroom downstairs was nice. Josh provided us with 4 window air conditioners that were already there from the previous owners, and he also is paying for the wireless internet. He sends us a bill for the cable part only each month. He said that is what he did for the previous renters as well. The other comment previously the 06-07 renters was not accurate at all. They had wireless internet in there house, as well as the window air conditioners provided brand new by the landlord on the day they moved in. He showed me the receipts from the ac units, as well as for the 9 months of internet. I believe that his site is going to give a bad reputation to the landlords in Pittsburgh only becuase some of the renters were probably your typical bad renters. I think Josh is a great landlord, and how can you complain when you are saving $1000's of dollars living outside of Pitt's moneyhole dorms. The owner of this site should beware, because I believe that a huge lawsuit could be filed because of these comments.

Josh is that you posting? Stay away from the Eckenrodes... they are a family of slum lords.
