I can't say enough about how terrible this guy was. It would take weeks of me calling and sending written letters for him to do any repairs around the house. Around the end of our lease arrangement, there were huge problems with leakign pipes, water coming up in the carpeted basement room (where someone was living) and the front steps were crumbling and decaying. The house smelled like mold, and two of my friends sprained their ankles as the steps outside crumbled beneath them (one of them had to go to the hospital and walk with a cane for a couple of weeks). Then to top it off, after not returning my calls on the matter, he sends people 've never met before over to the house without notifying us. I had just gotten out of the shower and was in a towel and these this guy and his girlfriend were pounding on the door. They said my landlord had sent them over to measure the carpets throughout the house. I called the landlord upset that 1). there were strangers over without prior notice going into our bedrooms to measure carpet and 2). that he hadn't said anything about replacing the carpets. I said I didn't want him ordering carpets and passing the cost on to me before I had a chance to clean the carpets before I left. He said it didn't matter, the carpets were 7 years old and he was required to replace them anyhow. So imagine my surprise when, after calling him for a month after I moved out trying to get my security deposit back, he sent me a BILL for bogus cleaning charges (me and two other friends spent five hours cleaning that place) and -- NEW CARPETS!! I threatened to take him to small claims and finally we came up with an agreement that he'd give me 1/3 of my security deposit back. I'm still not happy, but I just wanted it to be over.
