The ten months I lived above the Ha-rel's were an adventure to say the least. They seemed nice at first, but the Ha-rels absolutely refused to fix anything. Our toilet ran constantly for six months, the shower from the bathroom above ours drained into our bath tub. The only time he took an active interest in our well being was when we let him know we were moving out and he had to rent the place to some other sucker. Then, instead of fixing the leak in the bathroom, they just had someone come in and re-paint the ceiling tile above the tub from moldy green back to white every few weeks. Also, he was constantly looking for more rent, to the point of calling us at odd hours asking if we could pay a month or two early. He clearly owed a lot of people money. One of the guys who worked for him told me that he insists on getting paid in cash because he "knew better than to take a check from this guy." He also tried to change the date on our last months rent check so he could cash it early. I then had to call several times a week and show up at his house three times over the course of three weeks before I got even part of my security deposit back.
