Carolyn is entirely TOO available. She will call, and call, and call to the point of obsession at any given hour. She will talk your ear off and is given to lectures on things and insults that have nothing to do with landlord/tenant relations.
She was living in the apartment before we moved in and had us help her move out, though she swore she would be gone the day before. Instead, she stayed for almost 9 hours while we were trying to settle in. She was still painting parts of the apartment without telling us what was wet. This resulted in a few ruined shirts and articles of furniture.
She wants every spare key including the sets to both bedroom doors, but will only provide one set of keys for a 2 bedroom apartment. She left some furniture for us to use and then took it without asking us about it. She gave us a grill and then took it with her a month later. She completely re-did our yard and rearranged everything we had set up. Many of her actions are based on her assumptions that you are unhappy with things the way they are, but she will not ask you about it before acting.
She has homes in Georgia and Erie, but you never know where she is. She will randomly appear in Pittsburgh, even though she swears she will always warn you. She came into the house when we were not there and rearranged the rugs in our living room back to the way she had them before we lived there. She also left other rugs we did not want or need. She also showed up at the house at 1:30 in the morning and rang the doorbell for 5 min. before realizing we were trying to sleep. I think the only reason she did not just walk in was because the deadbolt (which can't be opened from the outside) was locked.
The apartment is beautiful and in a great location in the heart of the South Side. Carolyn is just a lot to handle. If you have a lot of patience and are willing to deal with all her goofy stuff, it's entirely worth it.
