If you are a women, specifically a young woman you may find the man incredibly offensive. When viewing the house he showed us every detail which was nice, but it started to get weird when he was showing us how to use the thermostat and how to take the lint out of the dryer. And telling us how often to do so. After we signed the lease we had another walk-through that took close to an hour each. You could tell he loved that place. We took the house because it was huge, clean and well-kept. Little did we know that he would be calling to remind us when garbage night was if we happened to forget. One time he came to visit for one reason or another and the house was quite messy. The vacuum had broken so the cat hair was showing on the carpet and some of the roommates weren't the neatest. He called later to tell me we ought to make a chores list and assign tasks to keep the house clean. He treated us like idiots. I really felt he thought that we were. His mother lived nearby and was always telling us how much pride the former owners took in that house. I guess we always felt like they were putting us down for not keeping everything just so. When we moved out it was because of his attitude and they prying conversations. I'm not sure if it was our age, our gender or both. We were no longer happy there having a landlord who seemed to be keeping tabs on our every move through his mother and the neighbors. It had just gotten ridiculous. When we told him we were going to move out, he never came when he said he would for showing the house. Once it was hours later, no call so I figured he wasn't coming and took a nap. I woke up to him turning on my lights and showing my room. In the last few weeks of our lease he decided to remodel the bathroom for the new people moving in. This decommissioned half the bathroom most of the time for the remainder of our lease. It was very unexpected on our end and rude on his part. To our amusement though, he was very shocked at how clean we left the house when we moved out. That didn't keep him from making up reasons to keep half the security deposit! Of course!
