The only thing they were prompt about fixing was the hot water heater. And even that took three days! The appliances are at least 10 years old. And when the included washer broke (which was so old it didn't have a cold water setting), they told me I needed to give them $200 to pay for a new one!! When I refused, Bob was incredibly rude and continued to be so until I moved out. They forget to mention that you don't have control of the heat you're paying for. The upstairs and downstairs apartments share the same furnace and the downstairs apartment has control of the temperature. They told me they'd take off $20 of the rent each month if I mowed the grass, which I did. A month later, that turned into weeding, edge trimming and the like. It also had to be done every other week. After that, whenever they came by, they would use MY electricity to do whatever they needed to do. The washer/dryer downstairs is on the honor system. You plug it into either the 1st or second floor electricity. Unfortunately for the second floor, you will get charged for everything. Because the 1st floor outlet is the only one with 3 prongs, and of course, both the washer and dryer have 3-prong plugs. They also screwed around when it came to me moving into the 1st floor apartment. It was vacant for MONTHS and when I asked they said sure. 2 months later I still hadn't heard anything. Eventually they ended up telling me that the first floor was a nicer apartment and they didn't want a student living in that one. The rent was also outrageous for Dormont and what the apartment was. $630/month for a 1 bedroom 2nd floor apartment!!! They are very rude, inconsiderate and dishonest. I would never reccommend anyone rent from these people.
