Juan De Pascuale

We were warned about Juan De Pascuale, a philosophy professor at Kenyon College, as a landlord. We met him, liked the house, and trusted him. He seemed very responsive and caring. However, today that all changed. He, against his word, said we could not renew our lease in Gambier, Ohio because he wanted a multiple-year lease. He completely misled us and was unethical. He gave his word to both my husband and I that he would let us have the first chance to sign a lease for the 2010-2011 year. It is despicable that he reneged on that promise. He obviously has no concern about anybody but himself. I am so thankful I have a husband and my sweet boys have a father that is ethical. No matter what happens for us after this, Juan's actions and words on April 30th 2010 were disgusting. He lied to us. We have rented for two decades in different areas of the country and have never missed payments and have had an impeccable record. Many stories abound about Juan - we are just the latest casualties.

Kora, I do believe that you are greatly misrepresenting Juan. It is almost cruel of you to describe him in the manner that you have. As a member of Gambier, I know that Juan is regarded with only the highest of praises. It would be truthful to say that he is a well valued member of our little town. To say that he has concerns with no one but himself is entirely incorrect. He is a devoted father of four and a doting husband to his wife, Carola. His friends are numerous and would all speak well of his kindness. You say that he lied to you, but you might be misrepresenting the event. It is most likely the case that there was a simple misunderstanding. Juan is an entirely ethical man and would not make decision without considering all the factors, especially putting his family first. Your words about Juan were cruel and misrepresenting. To lash at him as you have done and to try and defile his name speaks very badly of your character. Juan De Pascuale is a good man and deserves none of criticisms you gave.
