We were warned about Juan De Pascuale, a philosophy professor at Kenyon College, as a landlord. We met him, liked the house, and trusted him. He seemed very responsive and caring. However, today that all changed. He, against his word, said we could not renew our lease in Gambier, Ohio because he wanted a multiple-year lease. He completely misled us and was unethical. He gave his word to both my husband and I that he would let us have the first chance to sign a lease for the 2010-2011 year. It is despicable that he reneged on that promise. He obviously has no concern about anybody but himself. I am so thankful I have a husband and my sweet boys have a father that is ethical. No matter what happens for us after this, Juan's actions and words on April 30th 2010 were disgusting. He is a self-serving scoundrel who lied to us. We have rented for two decades in different areas of the country and have never missed payments and have had an impeccable record. Many stories abound about Juan - we are just the latest casualties.
